Biography
Angela Washko’s work combines an interest in social engagement with creating new forums for discussions of feminism. Her work often incorporates actions, interventions, videos, and performances – sometimes in video games. She's the founder of the Council on Gender Sensitivity and Behavioral Awareness in World of Warcraft to bring attention to and protest the sexist language from players in the game. Washko's projects have been written about by The Guardian (UK), ARTnews, VICE, Hyperallergic, Rhizome, the New York Times, The Creator's Project, Digicult, Bad At Sports. She has been exhibited nationally and internationally. She is a graduate of the Tyler School of Art/Temple University. Based in New York, she is currently pursuing a Masters of Fine Arts at University of California, San Diego.
