Rocky Riobo is a queer-femme, mixed-race, hearing-impaired, singer, performer, multi-instrumentalist, composer, and teacher. She is skilled and charismatic, enthusiastic and joyful. Riobo created Rocky and the Gems to present a vintage jazz experience - elevated music and a memorable live show. She currently lives in New Westminster and teaches private music lessons and choir out of Horizon School of Music.

The Gems, gorgeous and coveted as their adornment suggests, are handpicked from an outstanding roster of talented musicians from Greater Vancouver out to the Fraser Valley. Longest running and dearest gem is Vancouver’s own Kelly Brown. A masterful guitar player and veteran to the scene. Rocky and Kelly have been performing jazz together for many years and their chemistry on stage is as palpable as it is enjoyable.
