John Oliver will present two fascinating gallery talks on ‘The Art of Listening’.  John is a Canadian composer and musician; an associate of the Canadian Music Centre and a member of the Canadian Electroacoustic community.  His music has been performed throughout North America and Europe.  He has attended the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and obtained his Bachelor of Music from UBC.  He was awarded a Master and Doctor of Music from McGill University.  He ager studied psychoacoustics at the Centre Pompidou in Paris.  John will speak on and help us visualize the dynamics of sound in the OTIC exhibition and discuss his own response to the works.  This public presentation is free of charge and attendance will be limited due to gallery size (please arrive early).
