New Media Gallery, Anvil Centre
In response to the New Media Gallery’s exhibition “BRINK”, poet Kevin Spenst and visual artist/art therapist Shauna Kaendo will collaboratively perform a work that unfolds around the intersections of movement, expectations, uncertainties, trust and the balance we try to find…and keep…amidst our impossibly complex relations.

Shauna Kaendo is a mixed media artist and art therapist working in Vancouver BC. She is tirelessly (and gaspingly) excited by the bends that happen in the middle of our plans, our collaborations, and awkwardnesses. As well as the possibilities around community-building by way of peer support and connection, art-making and creative expression. Her approach to both art-making and art therapy is grounded in an emphasis on process, play and exploration of materials – and the belief that we all have the potential (and capacity) to bend.
